My Very First Stationery Memory
It all started with a little allowance…
I was about five years old when my older brother & I earned our very first spending money.
To a five-year-old, it felt like a fortune!
Our mom let us walk into a little store all by ourselves while she waited outside in the car with our younger siblings.
The shelves were filled with candy.
There were toys everywhere.
It was every child’s DREAM!
But across the store, something else caught my eye…
A Kerokerokeroppi stationery set with the cutest little
frog pen I’d ever seen!!
I had barely enough money to buy it.
I was absolutely thrilled!
That little stationery set became one of my most treasured possessions. I saved the paper for only the most special notes, using it so sparingly that a decade later, I was still writing friends in high school on those same adorable frog pages.
(And no… never during class, of course!
)
Looking back, it wasn’t just a stationery set.
It was the beginning of a lifelong love for beautiful paper, thoughtful details, and meaningful design.
Today, that same little-girl excitement still shows up every time I sit down to create something beautiful for someone else.
